Prof. Eyal Lederman |

Dr. Eyal Lederman graduated from the British School of Osteopathy and has been in practice since 1986. He is the director of CPDO, an international centre providing continuing professional development for manual and physical therapists. Dr. Lederman is a pioneer of osteopathic research conducting the first doctoral study in Europe examining the neurophysiology of osteopathic manual therapy. He also researched and developed Osteopathic Harmonic Technique, Osteopathic Functional Neuromuscular Rehabilitation and Osteopathic Functional Stretching. He has been an Honorary Senior Lecturer at University College London (UCL), Institute of Orthopaedics and Musculoskeletal Science UCL where has conducted research into functional movement rehabilitation. He has also been a visiting professor at Unitec, NZ. Apart from these activities, Dr. Lederman regularly teaches osteopathy and manual therapy to various groups and universities in the UK and abroad. He has published several articles in the area of manual and physical therapy and is the author of the books 'Harmonic Technique, Fundamentals of Manual Therapy', 'The Science and Practice of Manual Therapy', 'Neuromuscular Rehabilitation in Manual and Physical Therapy' and 'Therapeutic Stretching: Towards a Functional Approach'. His latest book 'Functional Exercise Prescription: Supporting rehabilitation in Movement and Sport is due to be published in March 2022. |

Steven Vogel is Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research) at the University College of Osteopathy. He practiced in the UK National Health Service in primary care for over 20 years alongside working in research, educational and clinical management. Steven has sat on two Guideline Development Groups for The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence and for the National Clinical Pathway for Back Pain in the UK and has recently been appointed to the expert review group for a WHO back pain guideline. He has published research with interprofessional colleagues on a range of MSK and manual therapy related issues. Current interests include evidence informed practice, communication and consent, adverse events and interprofessional conceptions of manual therapy. He is Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Osteopathic Medicine, President Elect of the Society for Back Pain Research and a Trustee of the National Council for Osteopathic Research. | |

Xavier Blusseau |

With a degree in osteopathy in 2002, Xavier Blusseau is working from his own private practice. Very involved in improving training and professional practice, he participated in the work of the National Health Authority on the management of common neck pain, drafting of training standards in partnership with the University of Rennes, and the working group responsible for the redesign of the osteopathic training in the Ministry of Health. In addition, he is director of the Ostéobio external relations and former head of education. It has set up a training in osteopathy focuses on the critical analysis of osteopathic concepts, on an interdisciplinary anotomo-functional approach, on a biomechanical and neurophysiological model of manual therapies acts, and on inter-professional collaborations for integration of osteopathy in the provision of care. |

Carmine Castagna, followed in the footsteps of his father by becoming an osteopath. He studied at the Istituto Superiore di Osteopatia (ISO), Milan, completing the BSc (Hons) Ost degree course in 2008. From that year onwards he has been a practicing osteopath, as well as active in osteopathic education. In 2010, he became principal of the ISO, a full time osteopathic degree course college; in the same year he was chosen as vice-chairman for the education committee of the ROI Register of Osteopaths of Italy. Since 2012 is working on the professional profile of osteopaths in Italy. In 2013 is Italian deputy to the CEN (European Committee for Standardization), engaged in the definition of the professional profile of osteopaths in Europe. In 2014 he competed a postgraduate certificated in academic and clinical education at the British School of Osteopathy . It’s actually involved in the writing of the core competence of osteopathy for the ROI, and former member of the boar of Directors of the OsEAN. |

Giacomo Consorti is an Italian osteopath, teacher and researcher. He is a member of the Clinical-based Human Research Department of COME Collaboration and the coordinator of the Education Department of Osteopathy of the Istituto Superiore di Osteopatia (Milan), where he also manages the relationships of the school with other international institutions, such as OsEAN. In the 2012 he began his training in the field of medical education, pedagogy and didactics thanks to the the SIPeM (Italian society of medical education). In the following years he taught medical education, pedagogy and didactics for trainers of the health professions including osteopaths on behalf of SIPeM of which he is actually Communications Supervisor. He is a board member of ROI (Italian Register of Osteopaths) and a member of the EFFO Working Group on Education in Osteopathy. | |

My name is Thomas Cornet, I’m 23 years old and I graduated osteopathic school in June 2021. Today, I’m practicing in two different offices in Brittany, France. I've really been interested in pedagogy for two years now, because of the complexity that it involves. This has led me to sign up for a postgraduate diploma in medical pedagogy at the Université de Bretagne Occidentale, last October. This program really helps to understand how to teach students to develop their knowledge and clinical skills. What interest me the most about pedagogy are the students’ commitment to courses, anatomy lessons and the balance between “traditional” osteopathy and evidence-based practice in the curriculum. Regarding my personal research, I’m focusing on sports osteopathy and the evidence based approach to pain. |

Graduated from Osteobio in 1999, I began my career as an osteopath while regularly pursuing continuing education and teaching in the school that trained me. After obtaining a University Diploma in surgical and sectional anatomy in 2009, I specialized in musculoskeletal disorders and particularly in infant torticollis and plagiocephaly, then I participated in several studies and publications on these themes. At the same time, I became director of the school Osteobio and I trained in biomechanical ergonomics to get clinical expert in gestures and postures. Hakim Mhadhbi completed his osteopathic training in 2005 and practices osteopathy in Rennes, France. He also completed post-graduate degrees in clinical anatomy, imaging anatomy, and multidisciplinary pain management in perinatal care and achieved a master's degree in sports biomechanics in 2013. He is currently involved in osteopathic education and research at the Institut d'Ostéopathie de Rennes-Bretagne, France, where he works as head of clinical practice and the international department and pedagogical coordinator. Hakim advocates an inclusive way between osteopathic tradition and an evidence-informed approach to education and practice. He is a student in the pioneer master's degree programme in osteopathy of the Metropolia University of Applied Sciences (Helsinki, Finland) with an enthusiastic group of osteopaths from all over Europe. His current research interests include innovation and implementation of evidence in osteopathic education. He has authored and co-authored some recent articles and books on osteopathic education. | |

Jöry Pauwels (°1976) studied physiotherapy, manual therapy & education in teaching, continued at Flanders International College of Osteopathy, moving on from student to joint principal of FICO. Professionally Jöry is active at FICO, (private & FICO) clinic and high-end physical sport (national rugby team). Jöry teaches in a number of European countries on (osteopathic) treatment concepts, education, innovations in safe & efficient mid-range manipulations: fluid build-up & non-impulse techniques and on gynecology & obstetrics. Currently Jöry enjoys his 2 children, food & drink, telemarking (white slopes and majestic mountains), traditional karate (IOGKF), (motor)cycling, rugby and golf when recovering from previous activities. Matteo Turinetto is senior lecturer, clinical tutor and Didactic Coordinator for Full time and Part time program at Istituto Superiore di Osteopatia (ISO). Graduating as DO, in 2002, from ISO with a Bachelor of Science in Osteopathy validated by the University of Wales, begun his activities as Osteopathic Medicine teacher assistant and lecturer at ISO till present. From 2007 al 2014 was ISO’s Course Coordinator and actively participated the validation process with Bucks New University and developing BSc e MSc Full Time courses curricula. In 2014 reinforce his educational competencies with the Postgraduate Certificate in Academic and Clinical Education taught by The British School of Osteopathy where in 2016 complete the Master of Science Degree in Osteopathy (MSc. Ost.). since 2016 he's the course leader of the Postgraduate Certificate in Academic and Clinical Education at ISO, validated by Bucks University. |

In addition to his activity as an osteopath, Luca is a professor at the Accademia Italiana di Medicina Osteopatica in Saronno for the differential diagnosis course and coordinator of the Research department. He also holds the role of clinical tutor at the Centro di Formazione e Tirocinio Osteopatico in Saronno. In 2022 he completed the Postgraduate Certificate in Healthcare Education. As an osteopath he works above all with sports realities, in particular with the Italian Bobsleigh and Skeleton National Team, with which he participates in World Cup competitions. |

I’m Giulia, I’m 24 years old and I’m an osteopath. I obtained in 2019 the Diploma in Osteopathy and the Bachelor in Osteopathic Sciences and in 2021 the title Master in Osteopathic Medicine with Distinction at Accademia Italiana di Medicina Osteopatica in collaboration with the University College of Osteopathy in London. What has always struck me about this profession is the patient-centered approach in its uniqueness and complexity; the patient is not a pathology to be cured but a person to be looked at, and for this reason it’s important to investigate all different aspects that may contribute to the establishment and maintenance of his pain: the organic, environmental and bio-psycho-social components. Now I work in an osteopathic studio in Varese and I’m a teaching assistant of Principles of Structural Osteopathy course at the Accademia Italiana di Medicina Osteopatica. I believe that humanity, empathy and insatiable curiosity are the fundamentals in my daily choice of a profession that looks at the person as a whole. |
