Andrée Aubin |

Andrée Aubin has a private practice in osteopathy since 1992 when she obtained her degree in osteopathy at the Centre ostéopathique du Québec (COQ) in Montreal, Quebec. She was Principal of the COQ, where she teaches, from 1992 to 2022. Her expertise concerns osteopathic teaching methods, particularly palpation skills, management of complex cases and clinical reasoning processes. In collaboration with Alain Auberville, she has published a book in 2015, called “La motilité en ostéopathie. Nouveau concept basé sur l’embryologie” (translated into English and Russian) that introduces a new clinical intervention model. She has published scientific articles, notably on palpation and educational remediation. She is involved in the creation of an osteopathic master’s degree program at the University of Sherbrooke. She regularly attends OsEAN osteopathic conferences since 2011, OIA conference (2014), Come-Sicilia (2019) and medical conferences: Montreal International Conference on Clinical Reasoning (2018, 2022) and 8th Forum International Francophone de Pédagogie des Sciences de la Santé (FIFPSS) (2019). | |

Amanda Banton and Steven Vogel have collaborated in research and debate about models of osteopathy in research, teaching and practice. Amanda graduated as an osteopath from the London School of Osteopathy in 2007 and went on to complete her doctoral thesis (supervised by Steven Vogel) in 2019: "Making Sense of Cranial Osteopathy: an Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis". They have co-authored two recent papers on this subject, published in the International Journal of Osteopathic Medicine. Amanda currently has the role of Research & Development Officer at the London School of Osteopathy. She continues to work in clinical practice in the North of England, and is a Fellow of the Sutherland Cranial College of Osteopathy. | |

Catherine graduated from the European School of Osteopathy (ESO) in 2005 from the CIDO - ESO pathway and has since been actively involved in various roles at the ESO for both undergraduate and international departments as well as practicing in two clinics in Kent.
Following her diploma in Osteopathy, Catherine has obtained a Masters degree in Osteopathy from the ESO as well as a Postgraduate certificate in Higher Education from the University of Greenwich and is currently undertaking a Doctorate in Education. Catherine is an experienced lecturer (MET, Structural techniques, Osteopathic management and Medical screening), examiner and dissertation supervisor for the undergraduate course as well as an experienced interpreter, lecturer, examiner and for the International department in UK. Over the years Catherine has taught in Russia, Denmark, Poland, Sweden, Austria and Spain.
She has also gained experience as an external examiner for BCOM on behalf of Plymouth University, London Metropolitan University and Westminster University and is currently External examiner for Final Clinical Competence Assessment at BCOM. She has also taken the role of International Programme Coordinator / Head of International Department at the ESO.
Catherine is interested in all aspects of Osteopathic philosophy and treatment especially how to integrate various approaches to provide the best care possible. Her particular interests are in patients presenting systemic conditions, osteopathy and dentistry, as well the treatment of the elderly.

Giacomo Consorti is an Italian osteopath, teacher and researcher. Co-founder of the thematic working group Osteopathy Track & Field and coordinator of the Education Department of the Istituto Superiore di Osteopatia (ISO) in Milan. Currently ROI board delegate for Osteopathy Europe (OE) and a member of the OE education committee and ISO delegate to manage relationships with the European Osteopathic Academic Network (OsEAN). In 2012 he began his training in the field of medical pedagogy through the Italian Society of Medical Pedagogy (SIPeM) of which he is currently a member and with whom he collaborates for events of faculty development in some Italian and European universities. He participated in the working groups for the drafting of the Core Competence proposal of the Italian osteopath of the ROI and also participated in the working groups for the drafting of the Core Curriculum proposal developed by the Italian Association of Osteopathy Schools (AISO). He carries out research activities for the ISO research department and in collaboration with COME Collaboration. |

Marianne Damgaard Jensen graduated from British College of Osteopathic Medicine (BCOM) in 1989. Since 1996 she has combined osteopathic practice with education, holding various roles both at BCOM and Oxford Brookes University. Marianne has lectured and examined widely both in the UK and Europe for osteopaths and other healthcare practitioners. Currently, Marianne divides her time between osteopathic practice at the Faringdon clinic and London where she leads on Clinical Education at BCOM. Marianne is an external examiner for College of Osteopaths Educational Trust (Staffordshire University). Marianne’s special interests include the keeping an aging population active, sports injuries and active management of chronic long-term pain patterns. Her master’s dissertation investigated effectiveness of treatment for chronic knee pain. Outside work, Marianne enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She likes outdoor pursuits, especially open water swimming, running and walking but she also enjoys pilates, yoga and breathwork. |

Dr Jerry Draper-Rodi is the Director of the National Council for Osteopathic Research (NCOR) in the UK, an Associate Professor at the University College of Osteopathy (UCO), a visiting fellow on the international osteopathic research leadership programme (UTS School of Public Health, Australia) and a clinician.
Jerry has experience of Master’s and doctoral level supervision, is a reviewer for several peer-reviewed journals and sits on several professional committees. He has raised more than £200,000 in grants and been a successful co-applicant on grants totalling £100,000. |

Gary Fryer is an Associate Professor and Course Chair in Osteopathy at Victoria University, Melbourne, Australia. Gary completed his osteopathic training in 1990 and practiced osteopathy in Melbourne, Brisbane, and rural Victoria. Gary has been extensively involved in osteopathic education and research, having taught osteopathic principles, technique, and research methods at Victoria University since 1997. His research interests have been diverse and include the reliability of palpation, the use of osteopathic techniques by the international profession, the biomechanical effects of spinal manipulation, and the neurophysiological mechanisms of manipulative treatment. After completing his PhD in 2007, Gary moved to Kirksville, Missouri, for a two-year period where he conducted research with the A.T. Still Research Institute. He has authored over 60 articles in peer-reviewed journals, many book chapters, and has been an invited speaker at osteopathic conferences in Australia, the United States, United Kingdom, Europe, Korea and Brazil. | |

Nicholas Handoll, DO, FSCCO graduated from the British School of Osteopathy in 1971. Dissatisfied with biomechanical models of osteopathy he took his first cranial course with the Sutherland Cranial Teaching Foundation in 1972 & continued exploring the ideas of Still & Sutherland with some of the great American osteopathic physicians including Harold Magoun Snr, Rollin and Allan Becker, Herb Miller, Anne Wales, & Robert Fulford. In the 1980s he was directed by Rollin Becker to research quantum mechanics. It opened the big picture, the interrelatedness of the body as a mechanical, physical, emotional and quantum entity both within itself and within our environment. Still and Sutherland’s philosophy began to have meaning. Nicholas is a co-founder of the Sutherland Cranial College of Osteopathy. His book Anatomy of Potency was published in 2000 and has been translated into German, French and Italian. The second edition appeared in 2017. |

Jason Haxton, MA, DO (h.c.) has been the Director of the Museum of Osteopathic Medicine since January 2001. Besides managing the only Osteopathic Museum created in 1934, he makes multiple international trips each year. During COVID he lectured by ZOOM as an addition to many osteopathic online curriculums. He is active with Continuing Medical Education credits (CME) for physicians too. He provides lectures, historic research materials and promotes the principles of osteopathic medicine through exhibits in the USA and abroad. At A.T. Still University in Kirksville he keeps a busy as Advisor to SAHOPs (Society for the Advancement of Historical Osteopathy and Philosophy Organization), along with teaching medical students and welcoming guests from around the world to the museum. Jason worked on a variety of documentaries which includes the Historical Emmy award PBS 2017: “The Feminine Touch” Spanish 2019: “The Science of Osteopathy” and German 2020: “Osteopathie Heilen mit den Handen” He authored “Andrew Taylor Still – Father of Osteopathic Medicine” a biography for young readers (10-12 years). This is the first book of its kind approved for school curriculum in social studies. He contributed the opening history chapter on osteopathy for an Osteopathic text book – English and German Language Elsevier: Lehrbuch Osteopathische Medzin - Johannes Mayer & Clive Standen - published in British English in 2019. In 2022, the Museum was recognized with National American Alliance of Museums Accreditation the highest standard in the Museum profession. |

Julian Knoff Ims, a native of Norway, transitioned from an international career in ballet, to osteopathy, graduating with distinction from the Institut Toulousain d’Ostéopathie (ITO) in 2018. He currently lives in the south of France, teaches at ITO and has a private practice . He recently earned a Master's degree in Osteopathy from Metropolia University of Applied Sciences in Helsinki, Finland in 2023. His research interests include active inference, osteopathic education, pain science, dance science and liminality. Integrating research into practice and education, Julian is dedicated to providing person-centered, evidence-based care to his patients in Toulouse while passionate about the advancement of osteopathic knowledge and education. | |
Alberto Maggiani |

Alberto Maggiani studied neurorehabilitation at the University of Pisa in the 1980s before beginning and completing his osteopathy studies in Milan during the 1990s. He has consistently combined his osteopathic practice with a strong interest in teaching and research, working in collaboration with various Italian Osteopathic Institutes. As a founding member of AIMO-Italian Academy of Osteopathic Medicine in Saronno in 2011, he took on roles as the head and teacher of the Research Department. Maggiani has always been fascinated by the field of pain and has worked alongside numerous healthcare specialists to address and manage musculoskeletal disorders, with a particular focus on the interdisciplinary facets of evidence-based medicine. His career reflects a commitment to integrating clinical practice with educational pursuits and research, aiming to advance the field of osteopathy through a multifaceted approach to health and wellness. |

Hakim Mhadhbi completed his osteopathic training in 2005 and practices osteopathy in Rennes, France. He also completed post-graduate degrees in clinical anatomy, imaging anatomy, and multidisciplinary pain management in perinatal care and achieved two master's degrees: in sports biomechanics in 2013 (Reims, France) and in Osteopathy in 2023 (Helsinki, Finland). He is currently involved in osteopathic education and research at the Institut d'Ostéopathie de Rennes-Bretagne, France, where he works as head of clinical practice and the international department and pedagogical coordinator. Hakim advocates an inclusive way between osteopathic tradition and an evidence-informed approach to education and practice. His current research interests include innovation and implementation of evidence in osteopathic education. He has authored and co-authored some recent articles and books on osteopathic education. | |

Danny Orchard lectures in NMS and Pain Science and writes the pain curriculum for the UCO. After reading Human Biology at Leeds and then a MSc in Pain Science from King's College London, he has been a lecturer on pain in the international circuit. Danny's most recent venture is a new start-up charity, the Centre for Osteopathic Research and Excellence, aimed at providing affordable osteopathy to the community, mentoring for new graduates and researching non pharmaceutical treatments for chronic pain. |

Jöry Pauwels was born in Belgium in 1976, studied physiotherapy at the Catholic University of Leuven Belgium and continued with Manual therapy and education in teaching. After that continued at Flanders International College of Osteopathy (Fico), moving on from student, to assistant, to teacher, finally becoming joint principal of Fico Osteopathy Academy & Fico MUM until 2023. In 2023 Jöry founded Osteon education in Belgium, Moventum in Slovakia and WOMA in Poland at the Warsaw Academy of Medicine. Professionally Jöry is active at Osteon, post graduate courses, his private clinic, the Osteon clinic and high-end physical sport (osteopath Belgian national rugby and traditional karate team). Apart from working at Osteon & WOMA, Jöry teaches in a number of countries on different continents on (osteopathic) treatment concepts, education, short lever manipulation techniques of the spine & peripheral skeleton and on gynecology & obstetrics. Jöry is a very active Hands with Heart tutor and active in multiple continents, tutoring volunteers in treating children with special needs in remote areas. As an internationally active Rotarian, he provides charity in areas where the need is high (eg. Ukraine). As an active OsEAN board member, Jöry is operating on a European scale. At university Jöry was head of 2 fraternities, captain of the rugby team, member of the educational board committee and was granted the award for sports merit. Currently Jöry enjoys his 2 children, food & drink, telemarking (white slopes and majestic mountains), traditional karate (IOGKF), (motor)cycling, rugby (national division), Belgian weather being an added incentive and golf when recovering from previous activities. Mental tranquility is found in shooting & expeditions. Jöry’s mission for the future is to further the development of OsEAN & osteopathic teaching, the expansion of Osteon, Moventum & WOMA and being a father & Rotarian. | |

Stéphane Renaudo has been working as an osteopath and trainer in France for over 25 years. He currently works as a clinician in Toulouse and is the educational director of the professional section of the Institut Toulousain d'Ostéopathie, where he also coordinates the research department. His interests, which focus on the continuous improvement of professional training for osteopaths and health professionals, led him to pursue research in educational sciences after several university degrees. His initial work focused on the social representations of initial osteopathic training among French expert trainers. He is currently pursuing his research into the most appropriate means and methods for making osteopathic training functional in the 21st century. This led him to study the place of experiential learning and copulative (integrative) alternation in an action-research training system. | |

Prof. Dr. Paul Vaucher has 19 years of experience in transdomain research working in applied social science, applied psychology, IT engineering and epidemiology. He has contributed to over 50 original published articles in bio-psycho-socio-medical fields. He is a trained practitioner with post-graduate degrees in health rights, clinical trials and applied neuroscience. He has experience in methodology, coding, implementing predictive rules, conceiving interdisciplinary frameworks for health management, and accounting for different perception of science between disciplines. Paul has planned and managed eight interdisciplinary pragmatic research projects as applicant with gained experience in transdomain team management. Steven Vogel is Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research) at the University College of Osteopathy. He practiced in the UK National Health Service in primary care for over 20 years alongside working in research, educational and clinical management. Steven has sat on two Guideline Development Groups for The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence and for the National Clinical Pathway for Back Pain in the UK and has recently been appointed to the expert review group for a WHO back pain guideline. He has published research with interprofessional colleagues on a range of MSK and manual therapy related issues. Current interests include evidence informed practice, communication and consent, adverse events and interprofessional conceptions of manual therapy. He is Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Osteopathic Medicine, President Elect of the Society for Back Pain Research and a Trustee of the National Council for Osteopathic Research. | |

Dr. Christoph Bäumer is a doctor with a degree in medicine from the university of Bonn, Germany. He has a diploma for osteopathic medicine from the university of Philadelphia and is a Master for pediatric osteopathy of the University of Wales. He studied some medical approaches, internal medicine, surgery, and postural medicine, functional medicine and has graduations in allergology, nutrition medicine and Modern Mayr Medicine, sports medicine, acupuncture (TCM, YNSA), Funktional Myo Diagnostics (FMD) and special pain therapy. He founded his Center of orthopedic surgery and pain therapy in Hamburg in 2000, which he coordinates til today, and treats his patients with holistic but individualised approach in diagnostics and therapy. In addition he developed, patented and produces the multifunctional "osteopathic" insole by Smartfoot. In his biological medical office he uses detoxification, ozone, oxygen and thrombocytes, stemcell- and ion induction therapy in his office on a daily base. During his work and studying the patients history he developed a holistic therapy system integrating the principles of getting ill and the principles of self healing. On these topics Dr. Bäumer gives talks and seminars about his medical point of view with his holistic postural medicine. All chronic diseases express themselves in postural issues- very early. |

Melanie graduated in Kinesiology at Université de Montréal and in Osteopathy at Centre Ostéopathique du Québec (COQ). She has been working with chronic pain clients since 2007 and developed an interest in the biopsychosocial approach. She then trained at the Université de Sherbrooke in Pain Assessment and Management. This program, has enabled her to deepen her understanding of the biopsychosocial model and the various intervention modalities that are applicable to the osteopathic field. Since 2018, Melanie has been involved in teaching at COQ and wanted to see this model better integrated into osteopathic training. With this in mind, she set up a course on the biopsychosocial model with her colleague Nicholas Gosselin, which they've been teaching for 3 years now. Since 2021, Melanie has held the position of Administrative Director of Continuing Education at the COQ, and since January 2023, the position of Administrative General Director of the COQ. | |

My name is Thomas Cornet, I’m 23 years old and I graduated osteopathic school in June 2021. Today, I’m practicing in two different offices in Brittany, France. I've really been interested in pedagogy for two years now, because of the complexity that it involves. This has led me to sign up for a postgraduate diploma in medical pedagogy at the Université de Bretagne Occidentale, last October. This program really helps to understand how to teach students to develop their knowledge and clinical skills. What interest me the most about pedagogy are the students’ commitment to courses, anatomy lessons and the balance between “traditional” osteopathy and evidence-based practice in the curriculum. Regarding my personal research, I’m focusing on sports osteopathy and the evidence based approach to pain. |

In 2014, I received my Diploma in Osteopathy from AIMO, the Italian Academy of Osteopathic Medicine, and my BSc in Osteopathy from BCOM, the British College of Osteopathic Medicine. Since then, I have worked as an osteopath, collaborating with multi-specialist outpatient clinics and participating in sporting initiatives and events. In 2019, I worked as an Osteopath for the pre-natal course 'Framing and Management of Postural Changes in Women during Pregnancy' at the Hospital of Carate Brianza. Since 2014, I have been working as an assistant and then as a lecturer for the Visceral Osteopathy courses in AIMO's MSc Most pathway. Currently, I have the role of Vice Head of the Department of Visceral Osteopathy, Unit Leader of the Clinical Units and Clinical Tutor at AIMO. In 2022, the I obtained the PGCert in Healthcare Education and I am currently pursuing a PGCert in Interdisciplinary Approaches to Women's Health. | |
