The OsEAN Open Forum 2024, held on November 7-8 at the Italian Academy of Osteopathic Medicine (AIMO) in Saronno, Italy, brought together osteopathic educators, professionals, and students for two days of engaging discussions, networking, and learning.
Under the theme “Osteopathic Models – Between Tradition and Evidence-Based Practice” the forum addressed the challenges and opportunities facing the osteopathic profession during a time of transition. With some schools adhering to traditional models and others integrating contemporary research, the event provided a platform to explore new frameworks while respecting osteopathy’s roots.
The forum featured 17 expert speakers from around the world, delivering presentations on topics ranging from traditional approaches to the bio-psycho-social model and the integration of manual treatment with modern science. Participants also explored innovative research through poster presentations and engaged in thought-provoking discussions.
In addition to the formal sessions, attendees enjoyed networking opportunities, including a lively cocktail dinner at the end of the first day.
The success of this year’s Open Forum underscores the importance of open dialogue and collaboration within the osteopathic profession. Feedback from participants has been overwhelmingly positive, emphasizing the value of the event in enhancing both educational practices and clinical insights.
OsEAN extends its gratitude to all speakers, attendees, and the team at AIMO for making this event a success. We look forward to seeing you at the next Open Forum in 2026 as we continue to explore and shape the future of osteopathy.
