Osteopathic education is rapidly developing moving from private awards to recognised higher education awards in partnership with Universities. Research expectations have increased with more formal educational requirements and with the development of evidence based practice expectations. Alongside these developments ethical and research governance frameworks have led to more formalised review of student related research in the UK. These demands are complex to manage and onerous. The British School of Osteopathy has developed its own research ethics process and governance procedures. The presentations will describe our procedures and share our ethical application forms with colleagues. Recent cohorts of student projects will be described in terms of ethical and education management issues that we have encountered. An open discussion of ways forward will be invited.
